SHOUT SHOUT–Let it all out–PART 3

Yes you may recognise the title of this post as being a Tears for Fears classic from the 80’s – well that is if you are old enough. This series of posts is about something else, it is about a project called SHOUT & DeforestACTION.

SHOUT is a global student voice project in association with Microsoft, Smithonian institute and TakingITGlobal where young people all over the world can explore, connect and act.

For more information and to download the teachers guide visit here: http://shoutlearning.org/

DeforestACTION is one of the specific projects connected to SHOUT which is all about raising the awareness and trying to stop the deforestation of rainforests in Indonesia. You can read more about this and more about the projects related to this on the TakingITGlobal site: http://www.tigweb.org/tiged/projects/deforestaction/

So a for the last month or so some of our Year 7 students at school have been working towards some of these projects. You can take part in challenges that have already been designed and created by others or make up your own.

In this third post our students have completed their own challenge that is not on the SHOUT site, it is called How to save the world in one minute?

Our students have created this themselves where any students can make a 1 minute video using Microsoft’s moviemaker to create a short, powerful video raising awareness of Deforestation in just one minute. They can then publish their video to youtube to gain a wider audience. These 1 minute videos were created by our students in just a one hour lesson recently.

Why do I sound so boring?
Love this!

What do you think?
