Student voice showcase at Plymouth E-Learning Conference 2011 #pelc11

It is exactly around 2 months since this event happened but I have only just had the chance to sit down and write a series of blog posts about this event. I have been reflecting on it ever since really. This is the first of several posts about the Plymouth E-Learning Conference but focusing on the kids. It was the first time we had a real flavour of ‘what the kids think’ and as Steve Wheeler AKA @timbuckteeth said in his blog post after the event: http://steve-wheeler.blogspot.com/2011/04/its-about-kids.html

“Yet Day 1 really belonged to the children, and the conference reverberated with their energy. It was a joy to have them joining us at the conference, and we will certainly be planning more children focused events next year, because let’s face it, our kids are not the future – they are the now”

Here is a fantastic post about #Pelc11 in particular about the student voice showcase from Matt Lingard, you can follow him on twitter @mattlingard or check out his blog here:

We have to thank both the teachers and more importantly the kids from the following schools who were extremely brave, mature and spoke expertly in how technology was really improving the quality of their learning to an audience of around 100 people within education plus the views from the online streaming.

The schools represented and I will feature in a series of posts were:

Saltash.net Community School

St James School

Heathfield Primary School

Lampton School

Broadclyst Primary school

Watch this space for more about each school!
