Students Skype with Professor Stephen Heppell

I guess sometime we don’t always look forward to early Monday mornings but this Monday my Year 7 student class did they were about to connect to Stephen to feed into a professional development day he was leading in Northampton to several large primary schools.

The students spoke about how technology was making an impact on their learning, it was during one of the lessons so I picked up the laptop and walked round the class to see and speak to the students about their learning.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the students and they loved every minute of it, this is what they said:

“It was great to skype the Prof Heppell, we have heard of the work he does and it was very exciting” Luke

“We often have used skype other things to connect to kids and teachers all over the world, we are lucky that our teachers allow us to use all these things we know other kids don’t always have the chance” Jade

This is what Stephen said about the skype:

“Thanks for the wonderful and ‘just right’ input yesterday – and could you also thank the über confident and articulate students? The three schools were so impressed at the sheer confidence and autonomy of your students”

Are you using Skype in any interesting ways?
