This wouldn’t have happened in my day…

Before you start to worry I’m not about to blog about what some old fella was saying to me down the post office the other day but it is me actually saying that statement and I am not really that old, I am 32 well ok I am really old when compared to a 15 year old and certainly in their eyes.

This blog post is all about waving goodbye to our Yr11’s on Friday, the students had an amazing day and were a real credit to the school and themselves, I felt really proud as I waved them all goodbye on Friday afternoon after dishing out boxes of tissues to the students and staff, funny as they will all be back in on Monday for an exam but it is a momentous occasion.

What I didn’t realise until the afternoon was that one of our Yr11 students was actually streaming parts of the day’s activities live on his blog on the internet. During the final assembly where Yr11 students were performing for the rest of the year there were over 300 people watching worldwide in fact over the day 17,000 people had tuned in. This is amazing to think that this is beginning to be just an every day occurrence for some young people today. This was all set up by one of our Yr11 students Ryan who without doubt has an extremely bright future ahead – just check out his blog here: http://gromfrog.com/

Just remember the Gromfrog!
