Actually this could be one of the first Teach Meets (TM) in the South West, not including Bristol. For a while now I have been speaking to a small number of like minded individuals about putting on a TM down in the west country as because we are so remote we find it difficult to get to all the ones that take place elsewhere.
On behalf of the small number of teachers there I would like to thank Vital (Open University) and the College of St Mark and St John for hosting it. In particular special thanks for organising the event so it ran so smoothly and setting it up goes to Claire Fenwick (@csf0961) and Emma Blackburn (@EmmaVital) from Vital. Back to the first Teach Meet – It was a fantastic experience on many levels and there were a few areas that we need to develop one being ensuring we have the capability on the server to broadcast live which we tried to do but it couldn’t cope.

The problem is the resolution – to make it small enough to upload has lost vision but you can still hear what was going on! Next time we will need to work on this.

We had teachers and practitioners speaking on a wide range of topics, Denzil Monk talking about the use of media http://www.realideas.org/organisation/people/122/denzil-monk
@jimmy_edwards talking about the use of games to enhance learning, @stephenfarmer talking about the use of Elg and Jamie from South Dartmoor spoke about use of Weebly. There was some excellent debate and it was a great start.
We are definately interested in doing another session and with a bit more time to advertise hope to build on the small group of practitioners beginning to develop a network.
