Have you applied for Pathfinder status? What is it?

This is what I spent the first part of my half term doing, applying to be one of the 60 schools worldwide to be selected for Microsoft’s Pathfinder school status, so you will have to watch this space to see if saltash.net is successful, considering we are up against so many schools worldwide and only 60 will be selected I am positive it will be a tough job.

You can read more about Pathfinder status here: http://bit.ly/f8oEL0

I would be interested to hear from you if your school already has pathfinder status or has had it in the past.

The benefits are:

  • Access to assessment tools that help school leaders and their teams determine what aspects of change and innovation they want to focus on during their year in the program.
  • Thought leadership and consultation with experts in education to guide the process of change.
  • Virtual Universities given by education leaders on a variety of topics ranging from learning environments, to developing leadership skills to best practices in engaging students in their learning.
  • Mentorship teams to coach school leaders throughout the transformation process.
  • Access to leading edge research tools to measure the impact of change and innovation in participating schools.
  • The opportunity to meet, network and collaborate with school leaders from around the world in person at the Partners in Learning Worldwide Innovative Education Forum.
  • How-to training for educators and technology expertise and guidance from Microsoft.

The deadline was the 30th May for applications for 2012, I only found out about it 3 days before so I had to put the application together very quickly including this video, my favourite part is the well trained chicken typing on word:

We have clever chickens in Cornwall!
