This is the fifth and final post about five amazing speakers who have made an incredible impact on our school since our professional development event called Engage and inspire – the possibilities are endless in March this year.

I have known Merlin personally since 2008 when we spent a week together in Hong Kong at the Worldwide Innovative Teachers Forum. He genuinely one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, such passion, enthusiasm and experience within education. He has seen so many things and if I spend an hour with him I come away with so many possible ideas for the future.

Although Merlin didn’t do a speech at the professional development event he did spend the time to go round and talk to groups and individuals throughout the two days which had an extremely positive impact on the whole conference, it simply wouldn’t have been the same without him. I am sure you know who Merlin is but if you don’t you must check out his site it is fantastic for anyone connected to education:

I would like to end this post with some comments about what Ben spoke about from some of the delegates as I feel this is more appropriate than me saying what I thought of it.

“Merlin is fantastic, he is such a good listener, we talked about lots of my ideas and then he suggested others linked to them based on other things he has seen. It really helped me formulate my ideas just talking to him.”

He was so enthusiastic about learning and how technology can enhance this that it just rubbed off on me”
