Fabulous new Facebook feature

As I am sure regular readers to this blog will know I have been championing the use of social networking within schools for students and staff for years now and in particular Facebook in the last couple of years, it is having an extremely positive impact on our school while others seem to be running scared of it.

In November last year I presented at the SSAT National conference – see what happened there and a copy of my presentation here:

More recently I appeared in this article in the Times Educational Supplement: ICT – Make do and Mend with Stephen Heppell – http://bit.ly/hmYAX9

Anyway some news that got me really excited this week was the fact that you can now live stream from facebook using a free Ustream application. See here: http://www.ustream.tv/facebook?rmalang=en_US It is really easy to install and I just think this is one of the things that facebook has been missing and I can’t wait to try it out with our students over the next few weeks. It is really good timing as our students in Year 11 leave today for study leave as do Yr12 & 13 very soon so we will be live streaming any day. What do you think about this? Have you any ideas on how to use it?
