Is a webcam in a pigsty cutting edge technology?

Now this is one of those questions we all find going round our head at 3am in the morning, ok I guess maybe it is just me, well at least it wasn’t about Chickens! What would your answer be to the question in the title? Well I think you should read the new article in the link below from the Institute of Enginnering and Technology. It covers a range of topics from the innovative use of the internet, e-safety, interactive classrooms and games based learning. It is great to have the work we are doing here at Saltash.net Community School mentioned with other people you may know or follow on twitter like @timbuckteeth (AKA Steve Wheeler, Associate Professor at University of Plymouth), Dan Sutch (@dansutch) Head of Development at Futurelab & Nicola Whitton (@nicwhitton) a Research fellow at Manchester Metropolitan University. What do you think of the article? Are you working on E-safety or any of the things discussed in the article?

  1. Nice little post Dan. I think that it is what you do with the technology that is often cutting edge. I saw an ‘olde worlde’ slide projector used the other day in a refreshing way – sweet!

  2. Cutting edge? Yes, I am pretty sure it is. For me, two things needed for this – it must be original, and it must be good enough to imitate. It is definitely original, and if the kids learn from it, then sooner or later people will imitate it. Good stuff – keep us posted!

  3. Link you tell about the Institute of Engineering and Technology,is good to see,and the institute is great and superb having great sort of features and the facilities for the students, mainly they are teaching the students with great style,so this is the main and plus point of the Institute. So that what i know and read about the great Institute.
