As part of a series we are producing some support tutorials for students and parents at individual requests from our school community on safeguarding young people using technology. This second one is on Gaming and how to set more controls on a game console, this example talks through how to do this on an Xbox.

Modern day gaming is nothing like what we used to play in the 80’s and 90’s the only time it got social is when your mum allowed a friend of yours to come over and they brought an extra joystick, you would then sit next to each other on the edge of your bed. You certainly knew exactly who they were. More often though you would probably be sat there on your own playing a game which wouldn’t be as interesting as playing with someone else.

These days it is much more social and collaborative and this can be a good thing however it does mean that young people can play with others all around the world via an internet connection and with this in mind the Office Mix below shares some suggestions on how to deal with this.
