Student voice showcase at Plymouth E-Learning Conference 2011 #pelc11 PART 3–Heathfield Primary School

It is exactly around 2 months since this event happened but I have only just had the chance to sit down and write a series of blog posts about this event. I have been reflecting on it ever since really. This is the second of several posts about the Plymouth E-Learning Conference but focusing on the kids. It was the first time we had a real flavour of ‘what the kids think’ and as Steve Wheeler AKA @timbuckteeth said in his blog post after the event: http://steve-wheeler.blogspot.com/2011/04/its-about-kids.html

“Yet Day 1 really belonged to the children, and the conference reverberated with their energy. It was a joy to have them joining us at the conference, and we will certainly be planning more children focused events next year, because let’s face it, our kids are not the future – they are the now”

Here is a fantastic post about #Pelc11 in particular about the student voice showcase from Matt Lingard, you can follow him on twitter @mattlingard or check out his blog here:

The third school represented at the student voice showcase was Heathfield Primary school in Bolton. I have known David Mitchell know as @deputymitchell on twitter please follow him if you don’t for a while now. He and the kids at Heathfield do some amazing work on blogging, it is simply fantastic. To learn more about what blogging has done for the kids there and the school check out this wonderful brainpop video always makes me laugh and I have watched it several times:

Awesome video!

The students and David appeared by Skype and told us about some of their recent projects, the students were absolutely brilliant and David was ok too (only kidding). To see more of their work visit David’s blog:
