DHSB @ the BETT Show 2015

BETT

Later this week it is BETT 2015 #BETT15, once again it is fantastic to have our students and staff feature over the few days during the exhibition in such a diverse range of activities. In addition to the various meetings we have arranged and the time we will spend looking to help develop ideas for back at DHSB, we will be featuring in the following:

Jonathan in Year 11 @DunnRiteUK will be presenting in the main theatre about Inspiring a Generation of Thinkers – Wednesday at 2:30pm.

I plan to talk about a project I’m involved in called Thinkspace – a space in schools where students can give up their free time to learn to code. I hope to inspire other schools to set up their own Thinkspace. I also want to talk about how coding can be used practically and its growing importance. I’ll then talk about how coding enabled me to set up my own successful business Dunn Rite.

Kamran in Year 13 @KMK will be presenting and taking part in a panel session titled Future-proofing your university: Meeting the next generation of student expectations – Wednesday at 2:15pm.

With schools and further education ahead of the technology curve compared to universities, this session explores meeting the technological requirements of students who are paying 9k a year. Attend the session to hear from prospective students:

– Making the move from FE to HE technologically seamless for students – what they expect

– Appealing to your prospective students – what technology do they want to see integrated into their courses?

– How to meet the next generation’s demands- what would make them choose your institution over another?

Dan Roberts (Myself) @danjjroberts will be presenting about Student leadership of Technology in the main theatre on Thursday at 4:45pm and also presenting a live BETT Chat at 1pm.

We will present examples where young students are using technology in innovative and creative ways to make a positive impact on not just the school community but the wider global community. We will showcase examples of student voice and the proven success of developing student leadership and give advice on how this can be created in other schools.

Finally Ben Forte @Ben40Forte will be presenting about Chromebooks on the Google stand on Friday, you can read more about Chromebooks at the school in a recent blog post here:
