Back2School–Free, Easy to use resources created by students for teachers.

If you have been enjoying too much sun and sand this summer and have left it too late to plan for your new classes in September then my students are throwing you a lifebuoy.

They have created a really fun and engaging project that can take as little as four hours of lessons or up to 12 hours or more. Better still all the lesson plans and resources are provided which have been tested by my students in 10 different schools both primary and secondary and to 266 students who loved every minute of it.

The project is called Games Based Blogging and uses Microsoft’s Kodu, Windows Live Writer and WordPress which are all free to download and use – you can also adapt the materials very easily to any subject.

If you would like the materials then please email my students at gamesbasedblogging@live.co.uk

  1. Can I just back up the chickenman! This is an awesome scheme of work and my students at summer school did it and LOVED every minute of it. I had 3 different primary schools in and they were all able to pick up the project and were very keen to write stories around their games because they knew they were going online! – Totally worth it!
