Should Facebook be banned in schools?

There was a really interesting news article this week taken from some research carried out at the University of Plymouth that claims one in three teachers in the UK have been victim to bullying via social networks from parents. It is yet another media article that will continue to fuel the debate on whether social networking has a place within education.

I decided to finally get round to recording my Facebook rap that I performed at the NAACE conference in March this year, in response to my students requesting I write a rap about it and package it up as a satirical look at this debate.

I hope you enjoy the premier which you can see here, apologies in advance for the quality:

It will be available on Itunes by September

What do you think of social networking in schools?

  1. As usual, the quality of the message counterbalances the rapping talent! 😉
Great stuff, Dan… I know what *I* think, but in common with many teachers in the UK (and beyond), I guess the real question is “what does the SMT think?”…
