While other people were tucking into the Easter eggs early in the morning in true Easter style some teachers were learning about some of the new tools from Microsoft and sharing ideas how to use them to make a marked contribution to the quality of learning that takes place in the classroom. We were at Microsoft’s Easter camp in Reading at Microsoft HQ. You can see some info archived on the twitter hashtag #msecamp and what is the 1st rule of Easter Camp I hear you ask? Well it is that you ‘DO’ talk about it and that is what I am doing!
The main outcome of the two days was to create some ‘innovids’ to upload to their youtube channel see here: http://www.youtube.com/user/innovativeteach
But just what is an innovid? check this very informative post by @olliebray http://olliebray.typepad.com/olliebraycom/2009/10/microsoft-innovative-teachers-network-innovids.html
I was immediately impressed by Windows Live Writer which is a fantastic tool created from Microsoft which is completely free and makes blogging so much easier, in fact I am using it now! When I say easier I don’t mean it completely writes a blog post for you and makes it really good, you will still have to try to do that yourself (Oh I do try boo hoo) but it comes close, the best way to see how easy it is, is to watch an innovid on it!
In true saltash.net style all three of the school’s representatives at #msecamp had to pick one of the same topics to create their innovid on. Which one do you think is best? You can learn all about Windows Live Writer:

So are you already using Windows Live Writer? What do you think about it?
