The Beautiful Game – World Cup Learning

This project is an international collaborative project where students from different schools from different countries pick a country that is represented in the World Cup and they create a multimedia presentation about that country working in a small group. We set this up at our school and advertised for schools globally to get involved and take part.

The main Learning Objectives were:

What do you need to be an effective global learner in the 21st century? Understand what you need to be an effective 21st century learner? Demonstrate what good communication looks like? Gain an understanding of different countries and cultures

On July 1st we broadcasted live from our main hall on twitcam with an audience of 250 students here at saltash.net school the student presentations about the world cup. We had over 2000 students taking part globally, from 11 different countries and probably over 50 schools worldwide. In addition we broadcasted live over the internet and so potentially had an even bigger audience and some of the audience even asked the students questions.
