One of the action research projects I have been working on this year was supporting students to use a ‘toolkit’ of 30 or so web 2.0 tools to enable them to become more independent learners. I recently talked about this at the Plymouth E-Learning Conference see this post: http://bit.ly/cvGV6p
This project has now hit the headlines in the local press see the article here: http://bit.ly/cAywAZ
It also talks about this project being shortlisted as a finalist in the TES Awards for ICT Initiative of the year. This is the second year running one of my projects has been shortlisted which is fantastic news for our students and our school, fingers crossed and hope we might win this year. What do you think about this? Any interesting stories about your school in the press? Please let me know about it.
Congrats on the shortlisting, a great inspiration.
Out of interest, did you just let the pupils independantly decide, or use advice through ICT classes, etc. to help them? Was there much indecision between pupils on tools, or swapping around?
And finally, will you be able to keep any of the resources/notes that the pupils created for future reference?
apologies for all questions, very intrigued 🙂
